DAY 14---ANCHORED IN LIMA'S HARBOR (2ND DAY)

Yes, we woke up to find we have gone nowhere and are still at anchor in the harbor.  Our friend in Miami sent me an article yesterday evening saying thousands of police were deployed to protect the country's capital and President.  The airport was also closed yesterday.  We hope these swells will subside soon so we can get docked.
Foggy and 66 degrees at 9am.

LAST EVENING

We dined in Prime 7, steakhouse, last evening.  Dominic, the maitre'd, escorted us to our usual table in the corner where Wayan waited on us.
Grace, sommelier and long time friend, served our wines.
We had our La Crema chardonnay and later I enjoyed this Raymond red blend wine.
Eni, from the Philippines, assisted Wayan
These are the two filets delivered to our table so I could coat them with the Lawry's lemon pepper that we bring along with us.  Then the chef cooked them to a perfectly medium rare for us.
Rebecca started with these huge shrimp cocktail.
I had my usual crab cake followed by some clam chowder before our filets, creamed spinach, and baked potato.
Instead of the popcorn sundae I had this key lime pie.  Very yummy!

After dinner I stopped and got a Happy Happy drink to take back to our suite.  Rebecca went to the production show which she said was very good.  I crashed!

TODAY

The Captain said during his noon PA that he had not been contacted by the port about any movement.  Then at 12:45 he made another announcement saying the port pilot would be boarding at 1:45 so we should be docked by around 3pm.  There are two cruise ships stuck in port and they have been allowed to depart now.  Indeed this is great news.

Tonight is our big night!!!  Yes, the Seven Seas Society Party is this evening at 6pm in the theater.  New Commodore tier (over 2000 nights on Regent cruises) people will be honored on stage as well as new Diamond tier (over 1000 nights) will also be honored on stage.  I believe there will be 4 new Commodores.  We will be on stage to get our Diamond pins from the Captain as we now have 1001 nights on Regent cruises.  There will be 5 new Diamonds.  Commodores will receive Captain's jackets.  As Diamonds we will now be invited to the christening of Regent's newest ship, Grandeur, in November.  We are really thrilled, as becoming Diamonds has been our goal for years.
This is our invitation to the Seven Seas Society Party stating we will be honored and that front row seats will be reserved for us.  Hopefully someone will use my camera to get photos for tomorrow's posting.

Dress code for tonight is formal optional so I will be in my tuxedo and Rebecca is one of her nice St John's dresses.  After the party we will head to Compass Rose for dinner.  Always on the menu on SSS Party nights is our favorite entree, miso glazed sea bass.
                                                                  Tonight's menu
After dinner we will definitely be heading to the theater for headliner entertainer, Linda Gentille's show.  We have seen her perform on several other Regent cruises and her shows are fantastic.
Hopefully, we will have been bunkered (refueled), the 100 pallets of provisions loaded on board,  17 crew heading home, 20 new crew members boarded, and the ship will sail again tomorrow.  Then maybe our internet will work better.
