DAY 55---CRUISING IN THE JAVA SEA

Our noon position heading to Brunei.  It's a mostly cloudy day with some passing rain showers and 83 degrees.  Sunny skies and no rain later in the afternoon and evening hours.  Very smooth sailing!

Very smooth sailing in beautiful aqua colored seas.  Pond-like water today.

LAST EVENING

                                                              Dessert bar in Sette Mari
Appetizers
The veal parmesan we shared and still only ate half of it.  Yummy though.
We also shared a side of spaghetti.
We finished our dinner and it was still an hour and half until the show was to begin.  So we went back the the suite and crashed.  No show for us.

TODAY

After getting coffee in Coffee Connection for Rebecca I fired up my laptop and phone to check on the house.  Inside temp is back to normal as is garage temp.  Still appears to be ice dam on back north edge so I emailed Alex (landscaper/snow removal) to go check on it.
Government of Brunei is requiring everyone going ashore there to go to their online website and register.  The ship had given us a guide on what to enter.  Rebecca does not need to do it as she is not going ashore.  I have a tour scheduled so completed the registration.  It was a pain and took 30 minutes.
Muara, Brunei, is our next port of call on the 5th.  Another sea day tomorrow before arriving there.
We were originally supposed to be in Hong Kong on March 16th & 17th but they later canceled the stop there saying Hong Kong was not open.  So recently our stop in Okinawa was canceled.  I can't remember that excuse.  So after Okinawa was canceled, miraculously we will now be going to Hong Kong on March 11th.  They sent out the excursion options this morning.  We spent 3 days in HK back on our 2010 world cruise and 2 days in HK on our 2013 Beijing to London cruise.  I booked one of the tours we did back in 2010 again.
My lunch in La Veranda consisted of this beef empanada, Cuban fried chicken, and roasted potatoes.
This afternoon I am working on securing our evisas for the country of Sri Lanka where we will be visiting on April 6th.  They are completed now and I have an approval email.
Then I went to work on registering online on the Philippines entry website to get eTravel QR codes for when we get off the ship during our 3 ports of call in the Philippines.  We could only apply within 4 days of arrival.  OOPS!!  When I was doing Rebecca's registration I noticed it had place to list 1st & 2nd covid vaccination dates with company of vaccine.  I did not see it when I did mine.  I went back online and there was a way to edit my registration so I entered my dates and vaccines.  Sure glad I did as my original eTravel QR code has a "red" border.  Rebecca's was "green" and wondered why the difference.  After editing, mine is now green also.  I would have probably been denied leaving the ship if I had showed my "red" one.  Problem is I can't print them and will need Kushal's (internet mgr) help.  Went down at 4pm but line of people waiting to have him help so I finally figured out how to download and attach them to an email.  Took a screenshot of the QR codes so won't have to print them.
The production cast has a pre-dinner show "Broadway in Concert" at 6pm this evening.  We seen this show many times on other ships but not seen this cast do it.  Undecided whether to go or not as it will be done several more times on this world cruise.  Ok, we will take drinks from our suite and go to the show but sit in the balcony.
We are meeting Jimbo & Mary Ann Todd for dinner in Compass Rose this evening.  We have cruised with the Todd's several times.  Two fantastic folks from Tulsa.
We will be crossing the Equator again tonight but heading north bound.  At 9:15 by the pool bar on deck 11, King Neptune will hold a crossing ceremony.  We have crossed the Equator MANY times!  So will not attend.  At the same time they will be showing a "popcorn movie" in the theater.  "Devotion 2022" is the movie.  We have already watched it on our suite tv and liked it.
Tonight we will set our clocks "ahead" one hour for the first time.  Always before they were set back.  So we will lose an hour's sleep.  Another sea day tomorrow.
