DAY 122---AT SEA IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN (DAY1)

This shows our route to Barcelona with the stops we will be making along the way.  3 weeks left.
Our position at noon is cruising off shore Namibia approaching the off the coast of Angola in the Atlantic Ocean.  We are getting a good ride.  High today was 66 degrees.

NAMIB DESSERT
The Namib Desert stretches along the Namibia coast line for 1200 miles and is 30 to 100 miles wide.  The desert geology consists of sand dunes along the coast some has high as 1000 feet and 20 miles long.  Further inland is gravel plains with mountain outcrops.  The desert is 55 to 80 million years old so makes it the oldest desert in the world.  The most arid part of the desert gets an annual precipitation rate of 1/3 of an inch.  Temperatures along the coast is around 48 to 68F while reaching 113 degrees further inland.  It gets cold at night however.

LAST EVENING

Dinner in Compass Rose last night with Paige and Cameron.  Great conversation as dinner lasted over 2 hours.  As I said yesterday, they are production cast singers/dancers.
My fried oysters were panko coated (YUK!!!!)  We have a chef from India now so what do you expect.  He is clueless.  I ate them however.  I guess we have a new supplier of butter now as it does not taste good.  Ruined my baked potato.
Also on the menu was pepper crusted grill ostrich medallions.  We asked for one for all us (except Paige as she is a vegan) to taste.  None of us liked it.
Apple tarte tatin with ice cream.
No show after dinner and the movie in the theater was canceled as immigration officials were using it for guests returning from the desert dinner.  We moved our clocks back another hour last night so we are now 8 hours ahead of Central Time.

TODAY

Usual morning treadmill time then lunch in Compass Rose.  They have started something new there.  Now they will have this special lunch menu on the table in addition to the normal daily menu.
I had the turkey sandwich.
We have booked a transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami for November 24th.  It is on the new ship, Grandeur, which will be christened when it arrives in Miami.  We should be invited to that christening.  So I am now trying to have Regent book our air to Barcelona.  I sent the airline and flights we want from DFW to BCN to our travel agent to be passed on to Regent Air Department.  Air is included in the cruise price.  But for the airline and route I want they want $1100 per person more.
Don't mind that but there is two more issues with the booking.  So I will be calling our travel agency, Pavlus Travel, this afternoon after they open as they are 7 hours behind us.
I just went down to talk with the ship's cruise consultant, Bea.  She sent a message to the Regent Air Department to straighten my request out.  A new custom air routing and fee should be sent to Pavlus for my review and acceptance.
I watched a weird sci-fi movie today, "Moonfall".  Would not recommend it.  Rebecca watched her soaps.
This evening is a formal optional dress night.  Love them.  Tonight's headliner show at 9:30 is featuring Lisa Maria Holmes, a female vocalist.  We want to see her show.
                                                                   Tonight's menu
        Tomorrow is another sea day.
