DAY 40---CROSSING CORAL SEA (DAY 1)

Sailing in the Coral Sea today which was the area where many ferocious island battles against the Japanese took place during WWII.  You will see Guadalcanal in this photo.  Clouds and a lot of sun today with a temperature of 86 degrees.  Smooth sailing today.

LAST EVENING

Mussel and vegetable cassoulet.  Loved it for my appetizer.  We also had the cream of potato soup to start with.  It also was served hot and delicious.
We loved the veal piccata with some extra mascarpone polenta and asparagus.
Dara recommended this new dessert, "sticky date toffee pudding" with vanilla ice cream.  I loved it.  Not a big fan of dates but this was very moist cake and I could not taste the dates.

TODAY

Guess we got another foot of snow in Durango the past couple of days.  I emailed Alex, our landscaper, to see if he cleared our driveway.  He had.  I have two Blink cameras to show a couple roof valleys where I have heater tapes.  I can turn them on and off from the ship with wifi.  Valleys ok but asked Alex to rake rest of roof if he thinks it needs it.  He will check it tomorrow.  Appears from camera views that it needs it.
I went down the the Horizon Lounge at 11am to play bingo.
Two production cast members run bingo.  This is the board but they call out the numbers also.
I got the 4 game pack which cost me $30.  Of course I did not even come close to winning on all my cards.
We had lunch in Compass Rose.  As usual Rebecca had her Atkins bar while I had the pulled pork sliders with some extra meat, fries, and cole slaw.

At the pool deck the beverage team were making coconut drinks with coconuts they got back in Port Vila.

Again this afternoon Rebecca is streaming her soaps from Paramount Plus and doing her nails.  We received the tour descriptions for our stop Hualien, Taiwan, on March 13th.  This is a change in our itinerary as was to be at Ishigaki (a small island off Taiwan coast.  So I selected our tour and got tickets from the Destinations Desk.  I'm watching this morning's lectures in the theater now on our suite tv.
This evening's dress is "formal optional" so I shall gladly don my tux and Rebecca will also be in formal attire.  "Martini, shaken not stirred" in my James Bond attire.
At 6pm this evening there is another Seven Seas Society cocktail party with some entertainment in the theater hosted by Janina, Cruise Consultant, and our Captain.  I suppose we shall go make our appearance there.
At 7pm we have been invited to join the Executive Concierge, Thay (prounced Ti), for dinner in Compass Rose.  I believe Pat & Jim Bittle will also join us.  They became Diamond status on last year's world cruise.  We have cruised with them several times.
On every Seven Seas Society night's menu is our favorite dish, miso glazed sea bass.
Tonight's 9:30 show in the theater is featuring the pianist, Carl Doy.  Rebecca went to his first show and loved it so I guess I will go with her tonight.
        Another day at sea tomorrow!!
