DAY 49---CRUISING IN THE INDIAN OCEAN

Our position at 2pm today is cruising in the rough Timor Sea of the Indian Ocean.  Overcast skies, windy, and 83 degrees now.

LAST NIGHT

Murphy presenting my red wine for this evening.
                                                            I like this Argentine malbec.
Rebecca had the pumpkin soup that was on tonight's menu but I had this tomato soup that is always available.
The hot appetizer I had is this zucchini & sundried tomato frittata with peppercorn cream.  The first one they bought to me was cold so I asked if it was supposed to be cold.  Dara said no and brought be a hot one.
We both had the veal liver but asked for yellow onions instead of the red one that normally comes with the veal.
                                                                   Baked potato for me.
This apple croissant pudding was "killer"!  Of course, I had to add some ice cream.
We did not go to the Aussie comedians show.  I wonder how many did as I never heard one person say they liked his first show.
We knew the weather was not going to be good during the night as our booze bottles were put on the floor, patio furniture secured, and orchid was sitting on the floor also.
Took this photo this morning after opening the drapes.

TODAY

Last night we set our clocks back 30 minutes again.  Now when it is 6pm Friday in Dallas, it is 9am Saturday here.
We are actually not experiencing too bad of a ride but the ship is moving some.  We were able to still do our treadmill time today.  It's 78 degrees this morning with a 30 knot wind.  But we are cruising at 18 knot into the wind so the wind up on deck 12 would feel like 48 knots of wind.  Deck 12 track is closed obviously.
After room service breakfast Rebecca is streaming Bold & Beautiful before heading to the fitness center.  Bessie delivered our Dallas Morning News at 10:30 after we had returned from our workout.  Now she is streaming The Young & Restless.
Tomorrow (our Sunday) will be another day at sea before we arrive in Benoa on the island of Bali.  We will be overnighting there. We have a 6 1/2 tour scheduled the first day which is due back to the ship until 3:30pm.  There is an exclusive world cruise shoreside event to depart the ship at 5pm and not return until 11:30pm.  Rebecca said she could not do both so I turned her tour ticket in and asked for the special event description.  After bringing it back to the suite and reading it we both decided not to do the evening event on shore.  I checked the weather forecast for that day and it is calling for rain and upper 70's in evening.  So then she decided to do the tour that day so I went back down and got her tour ticket back.
There was to be a seafood buffet out on the pool deck for lunch but due to the weather the pool deck (deck 11) and deck 12 (sports deck) are closed for the day and tonight.  So the seafood buffet was moved into the La Veranda.
I selected a baked fish (overcooked), fried rice (dry), paella (not bad), grilled veggies (also ok), and a delicious lobster mac & cheese.  I ate the mac & cheese and paella then got a couple slices of pizza.  You can always find something to eat.  I spoke with Chef John and asked for fried oysters but he said all he had were frozen oysters and not good for frying.  He said he could do oysters Rockefeller however.
Today I thought I would give you a peek inside the Boutique.
                                                                  Some sundries

                                                                   Designer sunglasses
Perfumes in this photo and one below.

                                                     Some women's and men's clothes.

                                                                            Jewelry

Lots of nice (expensive) jewelry in two photos above.
When we arrive at Bali, day after tomorrow, it will be the end of the second segment of this world cruise.  Fifty two folks will be disembarking and 55 more embarking.  The reason I mention this is this evening there is the Captain's Farewell Reception in the theater at 6pm followed by the Krew Kapers, crew show.  We did not see the Krew Kapers show at the end of the first segment so we plan to go this evening.
This is the usual Farewell dinner menu.  We always have the beef Wellington.  At lunch I saw Arthur, head sommelier, and ordered a $95 bottle of red wine for dinner.  It will be pictured in tomorrow's post.
We will also attempt to be on the front row for tonight's show featuring "The Diamonds" in their second and final show.  Two of the three lovely ladies were on the treadmills next to me this morning for a short period.  They did not stay long.  Guess I scared them off.
The water in our shower was very hot so I asked Bessie to have it checked.  This afternoon this young man shows up to check it.  I told Giovanni (strange name for a Philippino) that I had never seen this blue uniform before on a Regent ship.  He said it was an old uniform he had brought with him from home.
That's it for today.  Enjoy your weekend!!
