DAY 101---SAILING IN THE PERSIAN GULF

Our location at noon is in the Gulf of Oman with Iran just 10 miles off the left side and Oman the other.  It is partly cloudy, hazy, and 77 degrees.  Last night we passed through the Strait of Hormuz again.  Once again, very smooth sailing.

LAST EVENING

Bonnie, long time friend from Tucson.
Pat, new friend, showing off her new outfit.
Chicken & goose liver parfait for my appetizer was very good.
                                                                     Cod fish & chips
                                                                         Apple strudel
                                                                  Executive Chef Olek
Night lights of Abu Dhabi skyline
On the way to the theater after dinner I stopped at the Mariner Lounge to pick up a "Happy Happy" to take to the theater.  New flowers on the bar.
I was the first one in the theater and on front row left side.
Here are some photos I took of the show.  Cast is very, very good.

We have some new orchestra members.  The sax/clarinet player is a young lady.

TODAY

I had a 10:45 appointment with Ruby for another haircut.  Her first cut was one of the best I have ever had.  The men's hair cut costs $58 which includes the tip.  Rebecca got her hair cut by Ruby this afternoon.  Her's cost $106.  Why is there such a big difference between men's and women's cuts????
I had some delicious potato-carrot soup to start with then this panko coated cod with French fries and green beans for lunch in Compass Rose.
This afternoon we watched the taping of Terry Bishop's speaker series on our suite tv.  It was this morning's lecture in the theater.  It was titled "A Day In History-The US Strikes Back".  It was on this day (April 18th) back in 1942 that the Jimmy Doolittle bombing raid on Japan occurred.
We then watched Bill Toone's lecture, "The Decline And Recovery Of The California Condor".  Both lectures were very interesting.
They are having another "block party" at 6:00 this evening.  A bell is rung and everyone is to go out in the hallway with a wine glass to meet their neighbors.  Stewards will serve canapes and wine.  We know our neighbors so will head down to the Mariner Lounge about 10 minutes before the block party starts.
Planning dinner in Compass Rose.  We have a new guest entertainer in the theater at 9:30.  Ollie Mulkeen is a trumpeter/singer.  We're not sure if we have seen his show on a previous cruise so are planning to attend this one.  I played the coronet in grade & high school.
Tomorrow is another day at sea.
