Our noon position. It is sunny today and 83 degrees this afternoon. Smooth sailing again.
LAST EVENING
Bernalyn was about to put some ground pepper on my tomato soup when it came apart and pepper corns went flying. Thought this broom was weird one as they cleaned the mess up. The evening's featured red wine was this Australian shiraz. Like the merlot better. I had the deep-fried breaded pork chop, baked potato, and garlic spinach. All very good.Rebecca had this "veal ala Duva". It is a recipe of Mary Duva's (long time Regent passenger). It was veal scaloppini, spinach, prosecuitto, and provolone cheese in layers on top of some mushroom risotto. She loved it.I tried this new dessert by guest chef Tim Clark. It is a lemon tart, coconut sorbet, and whipped coconut ganache. Loved it!!
TODAY
I did my hour fast walk on the deck 6 promenade. Rebecca only did 36 minutes and at a slower pace on the treadmill this morning. Her side is still very sore.
We will be going on a safari on May 2nd when we arrive at Richards Bay, South Africa. Six of our friends on board will be going also. Rebecca and I did a safari during our 2010 world cruise and used a very good Cape Town travel agency. We are using the same agency for this one and I am kind of the main contact for the group. We got our final documents and vouchers a few weeks back after everyone made their final payments. So I reviewed them and organized our vouchers this afternoon. Our checked luggage for the flight back to Cape Town after the safari is limited to 44 pounds. There is a size and 7 pound limit on our carry-ons. So I basically packed the luggage I will be checking for the flight.
This evening is a formal optional dress so I have my tuxedo all laid out. At 6pm there is another Krew Kaper (crew show) in the theater. We went to the first show and last segment's show so not going this evening. Will head to the Mariner Lounge for cocktails at 5:30. I have to have a martini since I will be James Bond tonight. Tonight's show is featuring the violinist, Susana's second show. Not going.
Tonight's Compass Rose menu. We have requested veal osso bucco with red wine sauce and creamy polenta for our entrees however. Later this evening we will be entering the Gulf of Oman. Our arrival time for Muscat tomorrow is scheduled at 8:00am. I have a 4 hour tour scheduled for then. We will be docked there until 8:00pm.
